Not only is this my first Pinterest Picks of 2016, it’s my first roundup since OCTOBER. Good golly. I knew my blogging fell off a cliff between Halloween and New Years, but I didn’t think I’d end up neglecting one of my favorite series for three months. I’ve made an unofficial goal to get back to posting three times a week, so this kind of tragic oversight won’t happen again.
First, look at this spectacular emerald
isle island! I love that it’s in a mostly-white room, so the area feels bright and spacious, but the saturated color is a cool focal point. Speaking as somebody who loves the white/pale neutral decorating trend and uses it in her own house (to counteract the lack of windows; a troll would love it here) I don’t want EVERYONE to start doing it. Then it will be played out and we’ll waste a new take on a classic idea that could stand the test of time. Let’s inject some color, yes?
Speaking of color, that is a lovely red nail polish, but the real reason I pinned this is because of the gold coffee cup.
More green! This room caught my eye because it reminds me of a project I did in design school, plus I always enjoy a kid bedroom that’s not so twee it won’t grow with them over time. I could see a teenager digging this as much as a 10-year-old.
We’re back to our regularly scheduled weather around here, which means it’s soup season. This is coconut with bok choy and mushrooms.
Finally, can you believe this dresser is an IKEA hack? The first time I saw the picture I thought the homeowners bought it this way. The oversized hardware is what does it. (Bonus: cute wallpaper in this room, too!)
So what are you up to this weekend? We need to finish laying the new floor in the family room, which is the biggest task since the guy installing the baseboards will be here at 8am on Tuesday. And we need to get the baseboards. And I’d prefer to have them painted before he puts them on the wall. MANY THINGS! See you Monday.
